Emergency service perspective of families with children who have neurodevelopmental diseases

Introduction: It is known that children with neurodevelopmental diseases have frequent traumas like falling and apply to emergency department which significantly affects patient family. Our aim examine the families' view problems encountered in services by examining their answers questionnaire.
 Method: This study was designed retrospectively. Patients registered Department of Autism, Mental Special Needs Rare Diseases as families who included study. 324 families’ survey 12 open-ended questions evaluated terms distribution frequencies descriptive statistical methods.
 Results: By analyzing data obtained findings research were gathered under main themes 80 sub-themes. 313 (89.9%) diagnosed Down Syndrome, 9 (2.5%) Angelman 7 (2.02%) intellectual disability, 5 (1.4%) Autism. 34.2% 0-3 years old, 28.7% 3-6 20.9% 6-10 old. Emergency used "all cases where urgent intervention required" (70%), “an outpatient appointment couldn’t made" (10.8%)
 Conclusion: would be beneficial an understanding manner, using a plain understandable language, quiet environment room. To solve these patient’s problems, awareness training healthcare professionals, having separate examination observation room, ensuring accessibility arranging room necessary medical supplies equipment should made.
